I graduated with honors in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Perugia and subsequently obtained a PhD in Domestic Animal Endocrinology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (University of Padua) and the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Utrecht University, NL). In November 1999, I began working as a university researcher at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Padua, focusing my research on the following topics: endocrinology and reproductive physiology of dogs, the study of the relationship between companion animals and their owners, and the welfare of dogs used in assisted interventions. Since 2017, I have held the position of Full Professor and over the years have been involved in studying the endocrinological and cognitive aspects of aging in dogs, assessing animals involved in assisted activities and therapies. Currently I am analyzing the mechanisms that modulate attention and studying visual and auditory perception in dogs.
