Ho un legame lunghissimo con l’Università di Padova – mi ci sono laureato in Medicina Veterinaria nel 2006; ho svolto qui il mio dottorato di ricerca (concluso nel 2010) studiando gli effetti dell’invecchiamento su processi cognitivi ed emozionali nel cane; ho svolto attività di assegnista studiando il comportamento di cani in ambiente urbano; dal 2012 al 2018 ho lavorato come Ricercatore universitario e dal 2019 come Professore Associato nel settore della Fisiologia Veterinaria. Assieme a Lieta Marinelli ho contribuito alla nascita e all’espansione di quello che oggi è il laboratorio DogUP. La mia attività di ricerca riguarda principalmente aspetti di psicologia del cane; in particolare si concentra sulla percezione e l’elaborazione visiva e su capacità cognitive spaziali nel cane, con un particolare interesse rivolto alle differenze di sesso in queste funzioni. Infine, sono co-fondatore e ad oggi Presidente di uno spin-off partecipato dell’Università di Padova, il Centro di Scienze Comportamentali del Cane, che offre servizi di formazione in ambito di cinofilia.
